Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) - Switzerland

Founded by Lord Baden-Powell in 1923 after the first ever World Scout Jamboree, this World Scout Centre provides a place for Scouts from all over the world to join together to combine international friendship and fun.

Set in the outstanding natural surroundings of the Bernese Oberland, KISC is surrounded by natural wonders including the Jungfrau and the Eiger mountains the Rhone Glacier and the Trümmelbach Glacier Waterfalls. There are endless places for our groups to explore and with the extensive range of activities of offer from KISC, including international campfires, climbing, rafting, hiking and abseiling; our rep will struggle to find the time to recount it all for you.

An absolutely amazing summer has rapidly come to an end with all the groups from the last six weeks having had a great time and some unbelievable experiences. All the groups have been awesome and have helped to create a fantastic and exciting atmosphere at KISC. More »

Raging Waterfalls and craziness at the Campfire!!

The excitement continued right up to midnight on Friday as the week drew to a close for the three extremely sociable scout groups!

The extremely powerful falls at Trummelbach delighted to of the groups on Thursday and Friday as the force of the water is pretty incredible! This was followed for the groups by a trip to Interlaken to buy some souvenirs for friends and family back home as well as visiting the chocolatier and watching the Paragliders falling out of the sky and landing in park in the centre of Interlaken. Jungfrau flags

What an awesome week it’s been so far, all three groups from Earls Barton, Roborough and Mid Sussex have been incredibly busy and some of the activities have been really good fun, with of course the sunshine helping a great deal of courseeeeee!

Earls Barton Scouts have had a packed three days starting on Monday with the overnight hikes to the Ueschinenhutte 700 metres above the campsite. This was followed by the Three Valleys Hike from the hut to the Sunnbuel Cable Car which included a long days hiking which was apparently well worth it and that sounded like a really good laugh. The Eiger, Monch and The Jungfrau

A thrilling end to last week saw the groups take part in some super adventurous activities which rounded off a spectacular week!

The Snow and Ice expeditions gave the Explorers and Scouts from 3rd Tewkesbury some great excitement to end the week on and an experience that they will definitely never forget. Hiking over the Kanderfirn Glacier and walking next to crevasses are opportunities of a lifetime! The scouts participated in the beginners climbing course on Friday learning many new skills and scaling the heights above Kandersteg. More »
