About Lewis Phillips

Lewis Phillips

Hi, I’m Lewis. I love being outdoors and getting stuck into new challenges - trekking and cycling are a couple of my favourite things to do! Whenever I’m active, there are always opportunities to meet new and interesting people and to see amazing things. I love to push myself and really enjoy working in groups and overcoming challenges.

The end…

30 Aug 16

So we have had the most fantastic weather for our final group, Warrington East, staying in the Old Chalet! It has been another super busy week filled with adventure and activities. Returning to Kandersteg for the 4th time, for some of the leaders, really shows what an amazing place this is to have a permanent mini Jamboree.

All camped out

23 Aug 16

So we have to say goodbye to our final campers of the season, and what a way to end! The groups have been on hike and climbs in the Ueschinen valley, they’ve travelled to the Top of Europe, made loads of new international friends and have hopefully made some lifelong memories.

Living the Dream!

17 Aug 16

Our 3 groups here in the sunny Kandersteg; Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Coombs Wood and Medway Town Scouts have had a fantastic start to their week! The weather so far has been the best you can hope for whilst the groups have been out and about hiking through the mountains and cruising down rivers. The Medway town scouts enjoyed a 2 ½ hour gentle rafting trip down the river Aare, pretty much everyone had a good swim to help keep cool.

Later that day the group explored Bern and we visited the bear pits. The hot weather meant that people were ‘Bern’ing up, and the temperature was almost un’bear’able… Sorry haha.

The next day Brightwell and Coombs Wood scouts both visited the high ropes in Interlaken. A challenging experience for some, but everyone did very well climbing across various bridges and flying down zip lines.

Plenty more adventures heading this way, keep an eye open!

Alpine Adventures!

12 Aug 16

A great week so far with the Whitley Bay and Royal Tunbridge Wells Scouts. Both groups have been super busy hiking in the Alps and enjoying Kandersteg’s delights. We had perfect weather for the Rodelbahn and swimming in the lake – a little chilly to start, but everyone had a great time.

The Top of Europe and Much More…

6 Aug 16

An awesome week for both of our groups; a lot of busy days filled with loads of activities. Although terrible weather visiting the Jungfraujoch with the 5th Tower Hamlet Scouts was a true experience. Hiking on the Eiger trail to Grindelwald was great, the weather picked up, a good challenge for the group.
